Stalcraft: X

STALCRAFT: X is an MMOFPS that originally began as a total conversion mod for Minecraft before evolving into a standalone title on a proprietary engine. The narrative follows various "Seekers" as they navigate a stylized rendition of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, a territory filled with radioactive anomalies and hostile mutants. The central storyline features a non-linear structure where player decisions influence relationships with four primary factions: the Frontier, the Covenant, the Mercenaries, and the Rise. Side quests and cinematic sequences further detail the struggle for territory and the search for artifacts within the Zone's hazardous environment.

Interaction occurs in a persistent open world combining first-person shooter mechanics with survival and RPG elements. Combat emphasizes tactical movement and recoil management, while progression is driven by a barter system where players trade collected resources for weapon and armor upgrades. The environment is divided into zones with specific "infection" levels (Radiation, Bio-impact, Psi-impact, and Thermal) that require tiered protective gear to enter.

Players participate in both PVE activities, such as anomaly hunting and boss encounters in "Operations," and PVP engagements like faction-based outpost capturing. Information is managed through a personal PDA containing a map and quest logs. While character gear is permanent, resources and artifacts are lost upon death, allowing other players to loot them. A base-building system allows for the management of personal shelters for crafting and storage.
