Rocket League RLCS 2026 World Championship preview. Format, regional qualifiers, top contenders, and the 3 teams to watch at the biggest Rocket League esports event of 2026. Psyonix's annual circuit + a World Championship at a venue TBD.

The biggest Rocket League esports event of 2026
Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) 2026 is the annual Rocket League esports circuit organized by Psyonix (an Epic Games studio). The 2026 circuit follows the same structure as recent years: 3 regional splits (Fall, Winter, Spring) feeding into a World Championship at the end of the year.
This article covers the 2026 RLCS format, the regional qualifiers, the top contenders, and the 3 teams to watch at the World Championship.
The 2026 RLCS format
The RLCS 2026 is split into 3 regional splits, each running ~2-3 months:
- RLCS 2026 Fall Split (Sep-Oct 2026) — the first split of the year. Regional qualifiers + the Fall Major.
- RLCS 2026 Winter Split (Nov 2026 - Jan 2027) — the second split. Regional qualifiers + the Winter Major.
- RLCS 2026 Spring Split (Feb-May 2027) — the third split. Regional qualifiers + the Spring Major.
- RLCS 2026 World Championship (Aug 2027?) — the final event of the year. Top 16-24 teams from all 3 splits.
Each split has 3 stages:
- Open Qualifier — online open bracket. Any team can enter.
- Regional Qualifier — top teams from the Open Qualifier play in a closed double-elimination bracket. Top 4-8 teams per region advance to the Major.
- Major — the top teams from each region play at a LAN. The Major distributes World Championship points.
The World Championship is the culmination of the year. The top 16-24 teams from all 3 Majors qualify. The World Championship has a Bo7 grand final and a $1M+ prize pool.
The 5 RLCS regions
RLCS 2026 is split into 5 regions:
- NA (North America) — the most competitive region. 12-16 teams per Major.
- EU (Europe) — the second-most competitive region. 12-16 teams per Major.
- OCE (Oceania) — the smallest region. 4-6 teams per Major.
- SAM (South America) — the emerging region. 4-6 teams per Major.
- APAC (Asia-Pacific) — the emerging region. 4-6 teams per Major.
- SSA (Sub-Saharan Africa) — the newest region. 2-4 teams per Major.
- MENA (Middle East + North Africa) — the newest region. 2-4 teams per Major.
The total number of teams at the World Championship is 16-24, depending on the regional balance.
The 3 teams to watch at RLCS 2026
The RLCS 2026 will see the same dominant teams that have won recent RLCS events. The 3 teams most likely to win the 2026 World Championship:
1. Team BDS (EU) — the favorite
Why: Team BDS is the most successful RLCS team in history. The team has won 4 RLCS World Championships (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024) and is the favorite to win the 2026 World Championship. BDS's roster (Monkey Moon + Extra + Seikoo) is the most experienced in the field.
2. Karmine Corp (EU) — the dark horse
Why: Karmine Corp is the second-most successful RLCS team in history. The team has won 2 RLCS World Championships (2022, 2023) and is consistently in the top 4. KC's roster (Vatira + zen + rise) is the most mechanically skilled in the field.
3. G2 Stride (NA) — the regional favorite
Why: G2 Stride is the top NA team. The team has won 2 NA Regional Championships and is the favorite to win the NA Major. G2's roster (Atomic + BeastMode + Firstkiller) is the most aggressive in the field.
The 2026 RLCS World Championship venue
The 2026 RLCS World Championship venue is TBD. Recent World Championships have been held at:
- RLCS 2024 World Championship — Düsseldorf, Germany (August 2024)
- RLCS 2025 World Championship — TBD
- RLCS 2026 World Championship — TBD
The 2026 venue will be announced in Q1 2027 with a trailer. The venue is expected to be in North America or Europe (the two most competitive regions).
The 2026 RLCS prize pool
The 2026 RLCS World Championship prize pool is expected to be $1M+, consistent with recent years. The prize distribution is typically:
- 1st place: ~$300K (50% to each player)
- 2nd place: ~$150K
- 3rd-4th place: ~$75K each
- 5th-8th place: ~$30K each
- 9th-16th place: ~$10K each
The prize pool is smaller than other major esports (LoL Worlds is $2.5M, Dota 2 TI is $3.2M) but is larger than most non-endemic esports (Halo, Overwatch, etc.).
