Warframe Dog Days 2026 + Amir's Shockwave Nightwave — full August event notes

Warframe's August 2026 is stacked. The yearly Dog Days summer event returns August 4, Amir's Shockwave Nightwave Mix kicks off August 12, and Fables & Frontiers: Running Late — a mini Hex narrative — drops the same day. Plus a new Baruuk Deluxe Shaoshi skin and six Tennogen items including the first options for Oraxia and Kullervo.

Dog Days 2026 (live Aug 4)

The annual summer splash event runs August 4 to early September and is the easiest Platinum-per-hour in the game.

Nightwave: Amir's Shockwave (Aug 12)

The Hex hacker Amir takes over Nightwave hosting for the next ~10 weeks, in a 1999-themed season with electrifying rewards.

A mini-narrative adventure in the new Hollvanai room. The Hex characters are stuck in a 1990s sitcom — the dialogue, the set dressing, the soundtrack all reference 90s TV tropes.

Stacks with Affinity boosters (2x from shop, 1.1x from Calender, Sorties, Archon Hunts). Best week to level new frames, weapons, or companions is Aug 13-17 — the Nightwave launch week, when you'll already be running missions for challenges.

Jade Stars nerf (carried from July)

For the Helminth-build players — Jade Stars is getting a line-of-sight check in the August 12 patch. This is a significant nerf to Rhino Reinforcing Stomp + Piercing Roar combos that triggered Jade Stars through walls, and to Wisp's Shock-mote area traps. Builds that depended on through-wall procs will need to be reworked.

Saryn-Jade Stars is the most affected build (was killing enemies two rooms away). EDA/ETA changes are not in August — DE confirmed those are coming in a later patch.

The event itself runs through early September. The 150 Platinum reward is a first-clear weekly reward, not cumulative — you earn 150 once per Warframe account, not per character.

Is Amir's Shockwave worth grinding?

Yes if you play Warframe regularly. The Globakk Syandana and Kaneshell Atomicycle are Platinum alternatives (normally 75-150 Plat each), and the 1999-themed Hex dialogue carries through the rest of the season. If you only log in for Nightwave challenges, the weekly is the best time investment.

Can I get Baruuk Deluxe free?

Yes, during the first 7 days of release. After that it's 225 Platinum in the shop. The free window is a hard cutoff — no exceptions.

What's the best time to level a new frame?
