Apex Legends World's Edge Season 30 POI guide: the 3 new POIs ranked
The 3 new Apex Legends World’s Edge POIs ranked for ranked play: Climatizer + East Village, Tree Settlement, and Countdown. The best rotations, the worst drops, and the team comps that win.

How we ranked the POIs
This guide ranks the 3 new Apex Legends World's Edge POIs for ranked play (Diamond+). The criteria:
- Drop value (loot
density per player)
- Rotation safety (how
easy is it to leave)
- Combat density (how
often fights happen)
- Skill ceiling (how
much high-skill play rewards)
The new POIs are part of the Season 30 "Marked" rework that launched August 4, 2026.
The 3 new POIs
S tier: Tree Settlement
Tree Settlement is the best new POI for ranked. It has:
- 4 platform levels
connected by zip lines
- A central tree with
climbing routes
- **3 high-ground
chokepoints** (the best high-ground chokepoints on the new map)
- 1 sniper tower (the
best sniper tower on the new map)
- Mid-tier loot (3-4
weapon bins, 1-2 shield bins)
- Safe rotations in 4
directions (north, south, east, west)
Tree Settlement rewards skilled movement. Top players can traverse the POI in 30 seconds, vs 60+ seconds for new players. The skill gap is the highest of any new POI.
Best legend for Tree Settlement: Valkyrie (the vertical-mobility is perfect), Horizon (the Q pulls enemies off the zip lines), Bloodhound (the new S30 rework gives the team intel for the sniper tower).
A tier: Climatizer +
East Village
Climatizer + East Village is the largest new POI and the new "hot drop." It has:
- Climatizer (a frozen
industrial complex, 3 vertical levels, indoor combat arena, rooftop with map-wide sight lines)
- East Village (residential
area with unique architecture and the massive Longhouse)
- High-tier loot (5-7
weapon bins, 3-4 shield bins, 1-2 gold-tier items)
- 3 entrances to the
rooftop (the most defensible roof on the map)
- Dangerous rotations
(the POI is a chokepoint — every squad will rotate through it)
Climatizer + East Village is the new "Drop Here For Fights" POI. The drop rate in the first week of S30 was 65% (vs 40% for Fragment East in S29). The POI is a coin flip — win the drop, win the game; lose the drop, lose the game.
Best legend for Climatizer: Bloodhound (the rework's team-cloaking Ultimate is perfect for the indoor combat), Gibraltar (the Dome Shield is the best indoor-anchor ability), Wraith (the Phase is the best "I lost the drop" escape).
B tier: Countdown
Countdown is the new competitive POI. It replaces Fragment East and has:
- A central open arena
(the biggest open combat area on the new map)
- **4 surrounding high-
ground positions** (2 are accessible without a balloon, 2 require a balloon or zip line)
- 2 underground tunnels
(one leads to Tree Settlement, one leads to Climatizer)
- **A new "vault" interior
room** (the new vault is smaller than Fragment East's, easier to defend)
- Low-tier loot (2-3
weapon bins, 1 shield bin, no gold-tier items)
- Dangerous rotations
(the central arena is exposed from 4 directions)
Countdown is the new "Third-Party Central" of the map. Fights here attract third parties from 3+ squads. The skill ceiling is high (you need to win aim duels), but the reward is low (the loot is mid-tier).
Best legend for Countdown: Valkyrie (the vertical mobility is perfect for the high- ground chokepoints), Caustic (the gas is the best indoor-area control), Bangalore (the smoke is the best "third-party avoidance" ability).
The 4 best rotations on
the new map
1. East rotations
(through Climatizer)
The new "safe rotate" for east-side teams. Climatizer is a natural chokepoint, so rotate through early to avoid the third-party pressure.
2. South rotations
(through Tree Settlement)
The new "safe rotate" for south-side teams. Tree Settlement has 4 platform levels, so you can always find a quiet rotation through one of them.
3. North rotations
(around the rim)
The new "safe rotate" for north-side teams. The map rim is mostly open, so rotations are fast but exposed. Use Valkyrie or Horizon for the best rotation safety.
4. Mid rotations
(through Countdown)
The new "competitive rotate" for mid-map teams. Countdown is high-skill, high-reward, high-risk. Only rotate through if your team is confident in aim duels.
The 5 things to know
about the new map
- **The aurora borealis is
a visual cue** for the current ring phase. Blue- green = match start, purple-pink = first ring, green-gold = second ring, deep red = final ring.
- **The map is more
vertical** than any previous Apex map. Tree Settlement is the most-vertical POI, with 4 platform levels and a central tree.
- **The new Corrupted
Attachments change the weapon meta**. The Volt (energy regenerates) and L-STAR are now top-tier weapons on the new map.
- **Energy weapons are
"free"** (no ammo management). The Volt and Triple Take are the new "no backpack cost" weapons.
- **Switch support ends
today**. If you're on Switch, transfer your account to Switch 2 before the season starts.
What's next
The next major World's Edge change is the Storm Point rework rumored for Season 31 (November 2026). Storm Point has been the least-played map in ranked since the Olympus rework.
