OSRS Leagues II: Equilibrium beginner guide — regions, relics, first steps

Leagues II: Equilibrium launches August 10, 2026 and runs for 6 weeks. If you're new to OSRS Leagues (or OSRS in general), this guide gets you started.

What are OSRS Leagues?

Leagues is OSRS's seasonal game mode. Every player starts fresh on a new shard, races through accelerated progression, unlocks regions in a specific order, and competes on a points leaderboard for unique cosmetic rewards.

Leagues is the best way to experience OSRS for new players because:

  • Accelerated progression (5-10x

normal XP rates)

  • All players start equal (no

gear/account advantage)

  • Forced variety (you have to play

multiple skills, not just one main)

  • Bounded time commitment (6 weeks,

not endless)

  • Free to enter (Leagues II is the

first F2P-accessible League)

The 6-week timeline

  • Aug 10: League opens
  • Aug 17: First major balance patch
  • Aug 24: First region tournament
  • Aug 31: Mid-league patch
  • Sep 7: Final balance patch
  • Sep 14: League ends, rewards

distributed

  • Sep 21: Rewards migrated to main

game accounts

How to start

  1. Log in to OSRS between Aug 10 and

Sep 14

  1. Click the Leagues banner on the

login screen

  1. Choose your region (Misthalin,

Karamja, or Wilderness are unlocked first)

  1. Choose your Combat Blessings (see

below)

  1. Start playing — every task you

complete gives points

The 6 regions

Equilibrium introduces a branching unlock tree — 3 of the 6 regions can be unlocked in any order, the other 3 require a tier-3 unlock from a previous region.

Tier 1 (unlock first, any order)

  • Misthalin — the starter region

(Lumbridge, Varrock, Draynor). Safe PvP, basic skilling, easy quests

  • Karamja — tropical island, fishing

+ cooking, access to Brimhaven dungeon

  • Wilderness — PvP-enabled region.

High risk, high reward. The only place to get some unique items

Tier 2 (unlock after any Tier 1)

  • Asgarnia — Falador, Taverley,

White Wolf Mountain. Smithing + crafting focus

  • Morytania — horror-themed region.

Slayer + Prayer focus

  • Kandarin — advanced region. Seers'

Village, Yanille. Magic + ranged focus

Tier 3 (unlock after a Tier 2)

  • Desert — Al Kharid, Sophanem.

Thieving + crafting

  • Fremennik — northern region. Slayer

+ combat training

  • Tirannwn — elven region. High-level

agility + hunter

The 8 Combat Blessings

Combat Blessings are permanent character buffs you unlock as you progress. 5 are available to F2P, 3 are members-only.

  • Blessed Relic (F2P) — 2x XP in

your 3 chosen skills

  • Combatant's Boon (F2P) — +10%

damage in PvE, +5% in PvP

  • Tactical Wisdom (F2P) — +15% magic

damage, halved rune costs

  • Range Perfection (F2P) — +15%

range damage, increased bolt/arrow save chance

  • Slayer's Mark (F2P) — 2x slayer

task speed, double slayer XP

  • Berserker's Fury (Members) —

+20% melee damage, +10% accuracy

  • Endurance (Members) — +50% HP,

+25% prayer points

  • Trickster (Members) — +20% run

energy, 2x agility XP

The relic tree

Relics are unlocked every 3 tasks completed. There are 8 tiers, each giving major account buffs.

Tier 1 example: Double Cast — all combat spells cast twice

Tier 4 example: Banker's Note — noted items stack 50% higher

Tier 8 example: Finality — all spells have +25% damage, all attacks have +25% accuracy

The full relic tree has 24+ individual relics to choose from. You unlock them in order but you choose which relic in each tier.

If you're F2P (the first time in Leagues history), here's a recommended build:

Choose skills (3 main XP-boosted)

Pick 3 skills that match your preferred content:

  • Combat route: Attack, Strength,

Defence

  • Skilling route: Mining, Fishing,

Woodcutting

  • Balanced route: Slayer, Agility,

Thieving

The Blessed Relic gives 2x XP in these 3 skills, so pick what you'll actually play.

Choose starting region

  • Solo players: Start in Misthalin

(safe, no PvP, easy to learn)

  • PvP-curious: Start in Wilderness

(high risk, high reward, more points for PvP kills)

  • F2P-friendly: Start in Karamja

(fishing + cooking focus, no F2P restrictions)

Combat Blessings (F2P only, pick 5)

  1. Blessed Relic — must-pick (XP

boost on your 3 main skills)

  1. Combatant's Boon — damage boost
  2. Slayer's Mark — if your build

involves slayer

  1. Tactical Wisdom OR **Range

Perfection** — based on your combat style

  1. All-rounder pick — depending on

your build

Points system

You earn points for completing tasks:

  • Combat tasks: kill X monsters,

complete a boss, reach a combat level

  • Skilling tasks: reach level X in a

skill, mine X ores, fish X fish

  • Quest tasks: complete a quest,

finish a quest series

  • Region tasks: complete all tasks

in a region (unlocks cosmetics)

  • PvP tasks: kill players in the

Wilderness

Total points at end of League = your leaderboard ranking. Top 1% gets "Equilibrium Champion" title.

Reward tiers

  • Top 1%: "Equilibrium Champion"

title

  • Top 10%: "Equilibrium Victor" title
  • Top 50%: "Equilibrium Finisher"

title

  • All participants: "Equilibrium

Player" title

  • 1K points: first cosmetic
  • 2.5K points: cosmetic tier 2
  • 5K points: cosmetic tier 3
  • 7.5K points: cosmetic tier 4
  • 10K points: cosmetic tier 5
  • 15K points: top-tier cosmetic

The cosmetic rewards transfer to your main game account on Sep 21.

Common beginner mistakes

  1. Don't grind one skill — Leagues

rewards variety. Do 5+ skills to 30+ rather than 1 skill to 99

  1. Don't skip quests — they're the

fastest points early. The "Cook's Assistant" quest gives 50 points for 2 minutes of work

  1. Don't ignore Wilderness — the

PvP tasks give big point rewards, and the unique items are BiS for many builds

  1. Don't burn out day 1 — the

League is 6 weeks. 2-3 hours a day is the sweet spot

  1. Don't join a random clan — find

a Leagues-focused clan for tips and help

What to do in week 1

  • Day 1: Choose region, complete

starter quests (~500 points)

  • Day 2-3: Unlock second region
  • Day 4-5: Unlock third region

(if going Karamja or Wilderness route)

  • Day 6-7: Hit your first relic

tier (3 tasks = first relic)

  • End of week 1: aim for 2,500+

points (cosmetic tier 2 unlocked)

What NOT to do (advanced)

  • **Don't go to the deep Wilderness

alone** — you'll get ganked

  • Don't try to max every skill

the relic tree and Combat Blessings make some skills faster than others

  • Don't ignore the F2P restrictions

— some areas and items are members- only even in Leagues

FAQ

Is Leagues II free to play?

Yes! It's the first Leagues to allow F2P participation. 5 of 8 Combat Blessings are F2P-accessible.

When does Leagues II: Equilibrium

start?

August 10, 2026. Runs 6 weeks until September 14.

Can I play with friends?

Yes. Leagues supports clan play, co-op bossing, and trading. You can join a clan of up to 100 players.

Are the rewards worth it?

Yes. The cosmetic rewards are Leagues-exclusive (you can't get them any other way) and they transfer to your main game account on Sep 21.

What's the best skill build for

beginners?

Slayer + Agility + Thieving. These 3 skills unlock the most content early (bosses, shortcuts, pickpocket targets).

How do I join a Leagues clan?

The official OSRS Leagues Discord has clan recruitment channels. Join the OSRS Discord and look in the #leagues-recruitment channel.

Can I play Leagues on mobile?

OSRS has an official mobile client (Android + iOS). Leagues works on mobile, but the smaller screen makes some tasks (bossing, PvP) harder.

What if I miss a day?

No problem. Leagues is 6 weeks. Missing 1-2 days is fine. Missing a full week puts you behind the leaderboard.
