Amazon's August 2026 Prime Gaming lineup is live with 14+ free games spread across five storefronts: Amazon Games App, GOG, Epic Games Store, Legacy Games, and Amazon Luna itself. You need an active Amazon Prime subscription to claim, but once a game is in your account, it stays there forever — Prime cancellation doesn't revoke claimed titles.
This is the most overlooked monthly free games drop in gaming. Most of the titles are also delivered as keys you redeem on the storefront of your choice (GOG, Epic, Legacy Games), so the Prime membership is just the gate — the game ends up in your existing library.

Why the multi-storefront approach matters
Most Prime Gaming titles aren't actually "Amazon Luna exclusives" — they're keys for the storefront of your choice. GOG codes are the most common, which means the games end up in your GOG library (DRM-free) and work without any Amazon client.
This is a significant advantage over Epic's weekly free games: with Epic, you need the Epic client to launch the games. With Prime Gaming GOG codes, the games are permanently yours, run from any launcher (or no launcher), and don't depend on Epic staying in business.
What makes this month's lineup worth claiming
- Terraforming Mars is the standout. The board-game
adaptation is critically acclaimed, regularly $20, and works completely offline once redeemed on GOG or Amazon Games.
- In Sound Mind is a hidden gem — a psychological
horror from 2021 that flopped commercially but earned strong reviews (78 on Metacritic). Worth grabbing for $30 free.
- XCOM: Chimera Squad is the smaller XCOM spinoff. If
you skipped it during the original release, this is the cheapest way to try it.
- Zoria: Age of Shattering and Weakless are the
long-tail — both expire Oct 28, so you have two months to forget about them and remember.
- The Space Grunts trilogy (Space Grunts, Space Grunts
2, Space Grunts: Chrono Shard) is three different games for the price of one Prime subscription. If you like tactical roguelikes, claim all three.
What's NOT in the lineup
This month has no AAA titles — no Cyberpunk, no GTA, no Resident Evil. Prime Gaming's biggest wins historically (Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor) have been one-off promotional events, not monthly lineups.
The closest to AAA this month is In Sound Mind at $30, and that's a stretch for "AAA."
Tips for maximum value
- Claim everything before the earliest expiry (Aug 19
for FRAMED Collection, Space Grunts, Escape Academy, Poly Vita). You can redeem the codes later.
- Don't wait to redeem. Prime Gaming occasionally
deactivates old claim buttons even if the game is still listed. If the button is there, click it.
- Link your GOG and Epic accounts to Amazon before
claiming. This is required for some codes to work automatically; otherwise you'll need to manually redeem each one.
