Path of Exile 2 0.6 follow-up — what the new Act 4 endgame actually changes

Path of Exile 2 0.6 follow-up — what the new Act 4 endgame actually changes

Path of Exile 2 shipped patch 0.6 in late July 2026, the largest mid-league update since the Fate of the Vaal launch in March. The patch reworks the Atlas passive tree, adds a new Expedition tree, rebalances Simulacrum scaling, and brings back the Act 4 boss fight as endgame content. Here's what actually matters for players.

What's in 0.6

  • New Atlas passive tree for Expedition — a

dedicated skill tree for the Expedition league mechanic, separate from the generic Atlas tree

  • Level-scaling Unique items — Uniques that scale

with your character level, addressing the long-standing "level 78 Unique in a level 85 zone" problem

  • New currency item for Atziri's Temple — replaces

the old fragment system

  • Abyss reworks — Abyssal Depths and the Abyss

league mechanic are rebalanced

  • Simulacrum scaling fix — Simulacrums now correctly

start at 100% Delirious and scale to 200% (the previous 0–100% range was non-functional)

  • The Master's Reach — new Unique that drops from the

Vessel of Kulemak Pinnacle Boss Fight when fully empowered by Liches

  • Level requirement pass on key Uniques — Eventide

Petals and Choir of the Storm now require level 55 instead of being usable at level 1

Why the Expedition Atlas tree matters

The Expedition mechanic was previously tuned only by generic Atlas nodes. With a dedicated tree, players can now specialize in Expedition-only outcomes (more Remnants, better logbooks, more boss drops) without giving up generic Atlas bonuses. The trade-off: you spend Atlas points on Expedition nodes that don't help your other content.

GGG also added a Gaining Traction Atlas Passive that provides 50% increased Monster Rarity per Remnant Completed in Area. (This will visually display as 25% until a future patch.)

Simulacrum finally works

The pre-0.6 Simulacrum scaling was non-functional: it claimed to start at 0% and scale to 100%, but actually started at 0% and never scaled. The 0.6 patch fixes this to the intended 100% to 200% range.

Additionally, Simulacrum Maps no longer spawn immediately when spreading Delirium fog on the Atlas. They now spawn when reaching 100% Deliriousness in the fog bank — a significant change for Atlas strategy because players used to be able to chain Simus aggressively.

The Master's Reach and Atziri's Temple rework

The new Master's Reach Unique drops from the fully- empowered Vessel of Kulemak fight. It's a build- enabling weapon for several meta builds, particularly Bleed Glad and Poison Pathfinder. Drop rate is intentionally low.

Atziri's Temple gets a new currency item that replaces the old Mortal Hope / Mortal Ignorance / Mortal Rage fragment system. The exact drop rate and economy implications are still settling.

Hotfixes (0.6.1, 0.6.2, 0.6.3)

Three hotfixes shipped within 2 weeks of 0.6:

  • 0.6.1: Fixed a bug where the Mirror of Delirium

quest would fail to place the initial Delirium Fogbank if you had previously completed a Simulacrum in party play.

  • 0.6.2: Fixed Sulphite Stalagmites, Kin Totems,

and Dormant Burrower not correctly applying their rarity or Monster Potency in Grand Expeditions.

  • 0.6.2: Removed a hidden 50% increased Monster

Rarity per Remnant completed modifier that was double-stacking with the new Gaining Traction node.

  • 0.6.3: Fixed a bug where buying a stack of

Liquid Verisium would only grant you one item.

  • 0.6.3: Soul Eater now correctly gives 1% skill

speed per stack (was incorrectly 5% in some cases).

FAQ

Did my atlas passive tree reset?

No. Passive refund points were granted automatically when 0.6 went live, but your existing tree state is preserved. Re-spending the points is recommended to take advantage of the new Expedition tree.

Is the new Simulacrum harder?

Yes — substantially. The 100% to 200% scaling means Simulacrums at wave 30 are roughly equivalent to pre-patch wave 50. Expect 30-40% more deaths on the same build.

What's the best starter build for 0.6?

For early league, Bleed Gladiator and Poison Pathfinder are the strongest meta builds. Lightning Arrow Ranger is also strong. Avoid summoner builds in 0.6 — GGG has not addressed the summoner AI issues since 0.5.

When is the next major patch?

GGG has not announced a 0.7 date. Expect the next major league (the 0.7 league) in late October or November 2026, based on the 3-month cadence since 0.4.

Should I start a new character or push my existing one?

Push your existing one. The level-scaling Unique changes apply retroactively, and the new Atlas tree unlocks for everyone. Starting a new character is only worth it if you want a fresh league start when the next major league ships.
