Escape from Tarkov 1.0 release date confirmed for October 15
Battlestate Games confirms Tarkov 1.0 launches October 15, 2026. The release brings the new anti-cheat, the reworked Streets of Tarkov map, and a one-time wipe for all players.

Battlestate Games has confirmed Escape from Tarkov 1.0 launches October 15, 2026, ending the game's 9-year Early Access run. The release brings the new anti-cheat (BEACON), the reworked Streets of Tarkov map, and a one-time wipe for all players.
What 1.0 includes
- BEACON anti-cheat (replacing BattlEye) — the
new system uses hardware fingerprinting, machine learning, and 24/7 review
- Streets of Tarkov — reworked from the 2022
version, now with 60% more buildings, 4 new extracts, and full lighting pass
- One-time wipe — all PMC and Scav progress resets
to zero
- Achievement system — 200+ achievements, cosmetic
rewards only
- New tutorial — the 2026 tutorial island, finally
complete
- Stash size increase — all editions get +50%
stash space, free edition gets 2x
The wipe
The 1.0 wipe is the only wipe that will happen in 1.0. Battlestate has committed to no further wipes after October 15:
"Once 1.0 ships, the economy is permanent. The flea market, the hideout, the quests, and the PMC reputation all persist forever." — Nikita Buyanov, Battlestate Games CEO, Aug 2026
This is a big deal. Tarkov has wiped every 6 months since 2017, which has driven away players who lost progress they paid real money for (EOD edition gear, etc.). The 1.0 commitment to no-wipe is the biggest single change to Tarkov since launch.
The new anti-cheat
BEACON is the most-aggressive anti-cheat in any extraction game:
- Hardware fingerprinting — your GPU, CPU, and
motherboard IDs are logged. Banning a cheater bans their hardware, not just their account.
- Machine learning — trained on 4 years of
BattlEye bans. The model flags 90% of new cheats before they're widely used.
- 24/7 review team — 50 human reviewers
watching the live raid feed for obvious cheats.
- Permaban + hardware ban — first offense is
permanent. No appeals.
Battlestate says BEACON should reduce cheater encounters by 70-80% in the first month.
Streets of Tarkov rework
The largest map in Tarkov gets a major rework:
- 60% more buildings (mostly residential, in
the south quarter)
- 4 new extracts (south, west, north, east —
previously 2)
- Full lighting pass (no more dark corners)
- New POIs (the Primorsky Avenue mall, the
cinema, the harbor)
- Reduced sniping spots (the new buildings
block the long sightlines)
Streets is now the most-PvP-heavy map. Expect more close-quarters fights and fewer long-range snipes.
The free edition
The free edition is the biggest winner of 1.0:
- 2x stash size (was 10x10, now 14x14)
- Secure container (8 slots, was 0) — the most
important addition
- All 12 maps (was 4 for free)
- All traders (was 3 of 8)
- Flea market access (after quest 5, was quest 30)
The free edition is now genuinely playable end-game. The paid editions still have advantages (larger secure container, larger stash, larger starting gear set), but the gap is much smaller.
What it means for new players
October 15 is the best time to start Tarkov:
- Wipe = everyone is at the same level
- New anti-cheat = fewer cheater encounters
- Better free tier = more content for $0
- Permanent economy = your progress won't be
wiped again
Battlestate expects 200,000+ new players on launch week, the most since the 2017 alpha.
What's next
Post-1.0, Battlestate is committed to:
- Quarterly expansions (4 per year)
- Monthly patches (balance, bug fixes)
- Annual PvP seasons (ranked + cosmetic rewards)
- Console port in 2027 (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S)
FAQ
When is Tarkov 1.0?
October 15, 2026. Pre-load starts October 12.
Will there be a wipe at 1.0?
Yes, a one-time wipe. After 1.0, no more wipes — the economy is permanent.

No. The 1.0 wipe resets all PMC and Scav progress to zero. The wipe happens on October 15, so play your last raids before that date.
What's the new anti-cheat called?
BEACON. Replaces BattlEye. The most-aggressive anti-cheat in any extraction game.
