Off-meta but viable. Niche picks with strong use cases.

How we ranked them

This tier list reflects the August 2026 Marked Season 30 meta (post Olympus rework + Sparrow release). Rankings cover both ranked play and casual play.

Criteria:

  1. Ranked pick/ban rate (top 100

players)

  1. Solo queue carry potential (can

one player swing a match)

  1. Team comp flexibility (works in

multiple compositions)

  1. Skill floor vs ceiling (how

hard is the character to play)

S tier

Sparrow

Sparrow is the new Season 30 Recon legend, the best long- range duelist partner since Vantage's release in Season 16. Her kit is built around long- range intel and poke:

  • Passive: Hawk Eye

highlights the lowest-health enemy in your line of sight through walls (4-second cooldown)

  • Tactical: Echo Pulse

sends a sonar wave that reveals enemies hit for 6 seconds

  • Ultimate: Sky Net

deploys 3 flying drones that scan a large area, revealing all enemy positions for 15 seconds

Sparrow has the highest solo-queue carry potential of any legend in the game right now. A good Sparrow player can single-handedly win a fight by pinging enemy positions and focusing the weakest target. The pick rate in top-500 ranked hit 28% in the first week of Season 30.

Valkyrie

Valkyrie is the strongest repositioning legend in the game, the best "get out of jail free" ultimate. Her Skyward Dive passive gives the whole team vertical mobility, and her VTOL Jets let her reposition mid-fight.

In the Season 30 meta, where rotations on Olympus are faster and longer, Valkyrie's mobility is essential. She sits at a 22% pick rate in Diamond+ ranked, the highest of any non-Recon legend.

Wraith

Wraith is the strongest mobility legend, the most- consistent across patches. Her kit hasn't changed in 4 years because it doesn't need to. Voices from the Void gives the team a free "they're shooting us from there" warning, and her Phase ultimate lets her rewind out of bad fights.

Wraith is the highest-ban legend in ranked at 35% in Season 30. The ban is respect: she's still the best at what she does.

A tier

Octane

Octane is the strongest aggression legend, the fastest rotation in the game. His Stim tactical lets him move at sprint speed for 6 seconds, and his Launch Pad ultimate creates a 200-meter team repositioning option.

The Season 30 Olympus rework rewarded fast rotations (the new zip lines connect vertically across the map), and Octane is the #1 pick for teams that want to control rotation timing.

Bangalore

Bangalore is the strongest smoke legend, the most- reliable cover. Her smoke tactical creates instant visual cover, and her Rolling Thunder ultimate is one of the best area-denial ultimates in the game.

Bangalore pairs particularly well with Sparrow (smoke covers Sparrow's long-range peeks) and Wraith (smoke gives Wraith a free Phase path).

Gibraltar

Gibraltar is the strongest defensive legend, the best bunker ultimate. His Dome of Protection shields the team during heals, and his Defensive Bombardment ultimate wipes clustered squads.

Gibraltar's pick rate jumped in Season 30 because the Olympus rework added more open-area fights, where his Gun Shield passive shines.

Lifeline

Lifeline is the strongest combat support, the most- popular support pick. Her D.O.C. Heal Drone lets her heal while shooting, and her Care Package ultimate is the only source of high-tier loot in the late game.

Lifeline is also the #1 casual pick because her combat-stims passive makes her the most-forgiving legend for new players.

Catalyst

Catalyst is the strongest area-control legend, the best door blocker. Her Pierce Spikes tactical can seal a door (or a deathbox) for 30 seconds, and her Dark Veil ultimate creates a wall of ferrofluid that blocks vision and slows enemies.

Catalyst's pick rate climbed in Season 30 with the Olympus rework, which added more indoor combat. She's the best indoor-control legend.

B tier

Pathfinder

Pathfinder is the strongest recon legend but outclassed by Sparrow. His grapple is the highest-skill-floor ability in the game, but his scanner is now weaker than Sparrow's Echo Pulse.

Pathfinder dropped from first-pick in Season 16 to B-tier in Season 30 because Sparrow does the same job better.

Bloodhound

Bloodhound is the original recon legend, the most- popular but the meta has moved on. Their Beast of the Hunt ultimate is still strong for tracking, but the scan has been outclassed by both Sparrow and Seer.

Bloodhound has the highest overall pick rate in casual play (15% of all matches in August 2026) but only 8% in Diamond+ ranked.

Horizon

Horizon is the strongest gravity legend, the best Q-ability. Her Black Hole ultimate pulls enemies together, and her Lift tactical suspends them in the air. But she's been nerfed 4 times since her release, and the current iteration is the weakest.

Horizon is a B-tier pick in Season 30 but a top-3 pick in the 2024 meta. The nerf cycle is real.

Seer

Seer is the strongest intel legend, the most-nerfed since launch. His Heart Seeker passive reveals enemy heartbeats, and his Exhibit ultimate silences and reveals everyone caught in the cone.

Seer has been nerfed 6 times in the last 2 years. The current version is the weakest, but the silence effect is still unique enough to make him a niche pick in coordinated teams.

What's next

The Marked meta is dominated by the new Sparrow + the Olympus rework. The next big changes to watch:

  • September mid-season patch

expected to nerf Sparrow (her Hawk Eye passive is widely considered too strong)

  • October Season 31 — new

legend + new map (rumored to be a King's Canyon rework)

  • November 2XKO collab

rumored crossover with Riot's tag fighter (4 skins, an event mode, free Season 30 battle pass for owners of 2XKO)
