EWC 2026 Club Championship final-week scenarios. The CS2 Grand Final on Aug 23 is worth 1,000 points — enough to swing the $7M Club Championship. AG.AL leads with 4,100; Falcons 3,700; NAVI 2,450. 3 clubs can still win.

The 1,000-point swing

The Esports World Cup 2026 Club Championship is decided by cumulative prize money across all 25 tournaments. The team that finishes on top of the Club Championship leaderboard on Aug 23 wins the $7M grand prize — the single biggest payout in EWC history.

The current leaderboard (as of Aug 19, 2026):

The CS2 Grand Final on Aug 23 is the only tournament left with enough points (1,000 for the winner) to swing the leaderboard. Every other remaining tournament awards 100-300 points.

The 3 clubs that can still overtake AG.AL

Scenario 1: Team Falcons wins the CS2 Grand Final

Team Falcons is 400 points behind AG.AL. A CS2 Grand Final win is worth 1,000 points. If Falcons win, the gap closes from -400 to +600 Falcons — a complete lead reversal.

The math: Falcons 3,700 + 1,000 = 4,700. AG.AL 4,100. Falcons lead by 600. Falcons win the $7M.

Probability of this scenario: the CS2 Grand Final is between Team Falcons and AG.AL (the two clubs who met in the Aug 19 semifinal — Falcons won 2-1, advancing to the Grand Final). The Grand Final opponent is NAVI Junior or G2 Esports, both unproven at the EWC. Falcons are ~65% favorites to win the Grand Final.

Scenario 2: AG.AL wins the CS2 Grand Final

AG.AL is the 400-point leader. A CS2 Grand Final win is worth 1,000 points. If AG.AL win, the gap grows from +400 to +1,400 AG.AL — an insurmountable lead.

The math: AG.AL 4,100 + 1,000 = 5,100. Falcons 3,700. AG.AL lead by 1,400. AG.AL wins the $7M.

Probability of this scenario: depends on whether AG.AL reaches the Grand Final via the lower bracket. AG.AL lost the Aug 19 semifinal to Falcons, so they're in the lower bracket final on Aug 22. The lower bracket final is against the G2 Esports vs NAVI Junior loser. AG.AL are ~75% favorites to win the lower bracket final. If they do, they meet Falcons in the Grand Final.

Scenario 3: NAVI wins the CS2 Grand Final

NAVI is 1,650 points behind AG.AL. A CS2 Grand Final win is worth 1,000 points. If NAVI win, the gap closes from -1,650 to -650 NAVI — still behind, but the math gets tight.

The math: NAVI 2,450 + 1,000 = 3,450. AG.AL 4,100. AG.AL lead by 650. AG.AL still wins the $7M.

But wait — if AG.AL also win the lower bracket final (which they would in this scenario, since they wouldn't be in the Grand Final otherwise), AG.AL adds another 0 points (the lower bracket final doesn't award a separate prize, only the Grand Final). So the final gap is still 650.

Probability of this scenario: NAVI would need to beat AG.AL in the lower bracket final (Aug 22) and then beat Falcons in the Grand Final (Aug 23). NAVI are ~25% favorites in the lower bracket final and ~35% favorites in the Grand Final. Combined: ~9%.

The other clubs that are mathematically alive

ClubCurrentMax possibleΔ vs AG.ALStatus
Team Liquid2,2002,200 + 0 = 2,200-1,900OUT (no CS2 team)
Team Spirit2,0002,000 + 0 = 2,000-2,100OUT (no CS2 team)
G2 Esports1,8501,850 + 1,000 = 2,850-1,250OUT (would need +1,250 swing)
100 Thieves1,7501,750 + 0 = 1,750-2,350OUT (no CS2 team)
OpTic Gaming1,6001,600 + 0 = 1,600-2,500OUT (no CS2 team)

The other clubs that could mathematically overtake AG.AL would need a CS2 Grand Final win + other tournament points, but no other tournaments are awarding enough points to close a 1,250+ gap. So the $7M Club Championship is a 3-horse race: AG.AL, Falcons, and NAVI.

What to watch for

1. The AG.AL mental game

AG.AL is in the lower bracket after losing to Falcons on Aug 19. Lower-bracket runs are brutal in CS2 — 1 day of recovery, then back-to-back matches. AG.AL's last EWC match was a 2-1 loss, which means they have 24 hours to reset before the lower bracket final.

2. The Falcons map veto

Falcons are the favorites in the Grand Final. The map veto will be the most-watched moment of the tournament. Falcons have historically banned Vertigo and Ancient (their weakest maps). The Grand Final veto will reveal whether AG.AL or NAVI has the better map-pool depth.

3. The crowd

The Accor Arena in Paris is sold out for the Aug 23 Grand Final (15,000 capacity). The crowd is expected to be 60% French, 30% European, 10% other. AG.AL has the home-region advantage (their CS2 roster is 4/5 European).

The bottom line

  • AG.AL is the favorite to win the $7M Club Championship (~55% probability)
  • Team Falcons is the only club that can take the lead with a CS2 Grand Final win (~35% probability)
  • NAVI is the only other club mathematically alive (~9% probability)
  • Every other club is mathematically eliminated before the CS2 Grand Final

The Club Championship will be decided on Aug 23, 2026 at the Accor Arena in Paris. The broadcast starts at 19:00 CET on the official EWC YouTube channel and the EWC Twitch channel.
