Zenless Zone Zero 2.3 adds 2 S-rank Agents and a new chapter
HoYoverse's urban action RPG ships 2.3 on August 21 with the new "Section 6" chapter, 2 S-rank Agents, and the long-awaited Television mode that lets you replay cutscenes with a scene selector.
Zenless Zone Zero ships version 2.3 "Section 6" on August 21 with the largest content drop of 2026. HoYoverse announced the patch details at the ZZZ 2nd anniversary stream.

The 2 new S-rank Agents
- Burnice (Fire, Attack) — burn-scaling DPS with
the highest sustained damage in the game. Built around keeping enemies in the burn state.
- Caesar (Ice, Support) — shield + damage-sharing
Support that can tank hits for the whole team.
Both are the headline characters of 2.3 and the most-anticipated Agents since Zhu Yuan and Qingyi.
Television mode
The most-requested QoL feature finally arrives. TV mode lets you:
- Replay any past cutscene (main story, agent
episodes, event stories)
- Skip individual scenes within a chapter
- Toggle between dubbed and subbed audio
- Set playback speed (0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x)
The mode is a permanent addition to the "Inter-Knot" main menu.
Anniversary rewards
- 20 free pulls (10 mail, 10 login)
- 1 free S-rank selector (8 options)
- 2 W-Engine selectors
- Anniversary cosmetic outfit for one S-rank of
your choice
The rewards are the most generous ZZZ has shipped. HoYoverse is responding to the same anniversary- season competition that drove HSR and WuWa to raise their reward tiers.
Why it matters
ZZZ has been the third-place HoYoverse game in 2025-2026, behind Genshin and HSR. The 2.3 patch is the biggest single update ZZZ has shipped and HoYoverse is clearly trying to close the gap. TV mode alone will keep existing players engaged, and the anniversary rewards will pull back lapsed players.
What's next
Version 2.4 launches September 18 with the long-awaited "Polychrome" event (the game's first art-focused event with custom music tracks and animated shorts). The 2.5 patch (October 16) will add the first limited Bangboo (companion).
