Apex Legends Season 24.1 patch notes — Conduit balance pass, World's Edge rework, and the Catalyst buff
Apex 24.1 is a mid-Season-24 patch with a Conduit balance pass, a World's Edge rework, a Catalyst buff, and a new ranked reward track. Here's what changes and how to adapt your play.

Highlights
- If you mained Conduit, the new playstyle is more aggressive early-game. The ult is still strong (10 sec of damage boost + shield recharge), so save it for the team fight.
- **Added a new POI**: Sorting Factory (north of Lava City, between Countdown and Fragment East)
- **Replaced 2 low-traffic buildings** in Capitol with new high-tier loot areas
- **Added 2 new ring closures** that pull the end-zone toward Sorting Factory
- **Repositioned 3 high-tier loot bins** to encourage rotations through the new area
- The new ring closures make **north-side rotations** more valuable. Teams that hold the Sorting Factory area have a positional advantage in the late-game.
- If you play Catalyst, the new playstyle is to **ult-then-wall** in team fights. The slow locks down the enemy team's movement, and the wall cuts off their escape.
- 3 new weapon skins (P2020, Longbow, Triple Take)
- 1 new banner pose ("Championship Veteran")
- 1 new dive trail ("Apex Champion")
- 1 new Holo-Day banner frame
- The new rewards are exclusive to ranked play, so if you want them, you'll need to grind ranked for the next 8 weeks.
- Improved frame pacing on World's Edge by ~12% in the new Sorting Factory area
- A new legend (rumored to be a defensive support class)
- A new map (rumored to be a Lunar New Year-themed city map, similar to Olympus)
- The Championship event with the new ranked reward track
Bug fixes
- Fixed a crash that occurred when reviving a teammate with the Phoenix Kit while holding a care package weapon
- Fixed the Wraith portal sometimes placing the wrong exit point on World's Edge
- Fixed the Newcastle ultimate sometimes failing to shield teammates who are mid-jump
- Fixed the Seer heartbeat sensor not detecting enemies in the new Sorting Factory area
- Fixed a stutter that occurred when entering Skyhook with a full inventory
Other
- The 24.1 patch dropped this morning. It's a mid-Season-24 update with three meaningful changes (Conduit, World's Edge, Catalyst) and one cosmetic update (the new ranked reward track). Here's what changed and how to adapt.
- Conduit was the most-picked legend in competitive play after her Season 24 launch. The nerf:
- **Shield regeneration from passive**: 25 shields/sec → 15 shields/sec
- **Shield regeneration cap**: 75 shields → 50 shields per activation
- **Ultimate duration**: 12 sec → 10 sec
- **Ultimate cooldown**: 90 sec → 105 sec
- The nerf is significant. Conduit's value was in the **passive shield regen** — your team would be at full shields after every engagement. Now, the regen is slow enough that **you have to back off and hide** to get the full 50 shields, and the cap is small enough that it doesn't feel "free."
- **How to adapt:**
- If you played against Conduit, the counter is **bigger one-shot weapons** (Longbow, Triple Take, Charge Rifle). With Conduit's passive regen capped at 50, a single Longbow headshot + team focus will drop her.
- The pick rate will drop from ~35% to ~20-25% in competitive. Catalyst and Bangalore should see more play.
- World's Edge was the most-played map in Season 24 but had been criticized for **lack of end-game variety**. The mid-zone and final zone often ended up in the same 3-4 spots (Skyhook, Capitol, Lava City). The 24.1 rework:
- The new POI is a **mid-tier loot area** with 6-8 loot bins, 2 supply bins, and a guaranteed weapon from the care package rotation. The layout is a multi-level building with vertical play opportunities, similar to Skyhook.
- **How to adapt:**
- Sorting Factory is now the **third most-rotated POI** after Skyhook and Capitol. Expect heavy early-game fights.
- Capitol's loot density is now higher, so it's worth contesting even if you're not rotating to it.
- Catalyst was the second-most-picked legend in Season 24 (after Conduit), but her win rate in ranked was below average. The buff:
- **Pierce from ultimate**: 0.5 sec slow → 1.0 sec slow
- **Ferrofluid wall duration**: 12 sec → 15 sec
- **Ferrofluid wall length**: 25m → 30m
- The slow duration on the ultimate is the **biggest buff**. A 1-second slow in a 1v1 is the difference between winning and losing. Combined with the longer wall duration, Catalyst's mid-fight lockdown is now significantly stronger.
- **How to adapt:**
- If you play against Catalyst, the counter is **push through the wall** with an ability that breaks it (Caustic, Horizon, Ash). Standing back and waiting for the wall to expire is no longer a viable strategy.
- The Season 24.1 update adds a new ranked reward track on top of the existing Season 24 track. The new track unlocks:
- The new rewards are **unlocked through ranked wins** in the second half of Season 24 (August-October). The rewards are stackable with the existing Season 24 rewards.
- **How to adapt:**
- The triple-stack ranked rewards (Season 24 + Season 24.1 + ALGS Year 4 Championship) make this the **most rewarding ranked season in Apex history**.
- Reduced memory usage by ~150MB on PS5 and Xbox Series X
- The next major patch is the **Season 25 launch** in October. Expect:
- The end of ALGS Year 4 and the start of ALGS Year 5

Apex 24.1 — mid-Season patch
The 24.1 patch dropped this morning. It's a mid-Season-24 update with three meaningful changes (Conduit, World's Edge, Catalyst) and one cosmetic update (the new ranked reward track). Here's what changed and how to adapt.
Conduit balance pass
Conduit was the most-picked legend in competitive play after her Season 24 launch. The nerf:
- Shield regeneration from passive: 25 shields/sec → 15 shields/sec
- Shield regeneration cap: 75 shields → 50 shields per activation
- Ultimate duration: 12 sec → 10 sec

- The pick rate will drop from ~35% to ~20-25% in competitive. Catalyst and Bangalore should see more play.
World's Edge rework
World's Edge was the most-played map in Season 24 but had been criticized for lack of end-game variety. The mid-zone and final zone often ended up in the same 3-4 spots (Skyhook, Capitol, Lava City). The 24.1 rework:
- Added a new POI: Sorting Factory (north of Lava City, between Countdown and Fragment East)
- Replaced 2 low-traffic buildings in Capitol with new high-tier loot areas
- Added 2 new ring closures that pull the end-zone toward Sorting Factory
- Repositioned 3 high-tier loot bins to encourage rotations through the new area
The new POI is a mid-tier loot area with 6-8 loot bins, 2 supply bins, and a guaranteed weapon from the care package rotation. The layout is a multi-level building with vertical play opportunities, similar to Skyhook.
How to adapt:
- Sorting Factory is now the third most-rotated POI after Skyhook and Capitol. Expect heavy early-game fights.
- The new ring closures make north-side rotations more valuable. Teams that hold the Sorting Factory area have a positional advantage in the late-game.
- Capitol's loot density is now higher, so it's worth contesting even if you're not rotating to it.
Catalyst buff
Catalyst was the second-most-picked legend in Season 24 (after Conduit), but her win rate in ranked was below average. The buff:
- Pierce from ultimate: 0.5 sec slow → 1.0 sec slow
- Ferrofluid wall duration: 12 sec → 15 sec
- Ferrofluid wall length: 25m → 30m
The slow duration on the ultimate is the biggest buff. A 1-second slow in a 1v1 is the difference between winning and losing. Combined with the longer wall duration, Catalyst's mid-fight lockdown is now significantly stronger.
How to adapt:
- If you play Catalyst, the new playstyle is to ult-then-wall in team fights. The slow locks down the enemy team's movement, and the wall cuts off their escape.
- If you play against Catalyst, the counter is push through the wall with an ability that breaks it (Caustic, Horizon, Ash). Standing back and waiting for the wall to expire is no longer a viable strategy.
New ranked reward track
The Season 24.1 update adds a new ranked reward track on top of the existing Season 24 track. The new track unlocks:
- 3 new weapon skins (P2020, Longbow, Triple Take)
- 1 new banner pose ("Championship Veteran")
- 1 new dive trail ("Apex Champion")
- 1 new Holo-Day banner frame
The new rewards are unlocked through ranked wins in the second half of Season 24 (August-October). The rewards are stackable with the existing Season 24 rewards.
How to adapt:
- The new rewards are exclusive to ranked play, so if you want them, you'll need to grind ranked for the next 8 weeks.
- The triple-stack ranked rewards (Season 24 + Season 24.1 + ALGS Year 4 Championship) make this the most rewarding ranked season in Apex history.
