- **10:00 AM PT / 5:00 PM UTC**. Free
- update on all platforms, zero
- downtime as Season 29 rolls over.
- The headline changes:
- **Full Bloodhound rework** —
- new glowing-trail Passive +
- team-cloaking Ultimate
- **World's Edge map rework** —
- 3 new POIs, aurora borealis
- sky, old-god aesthetic
- **Corrupted Attachments** —

- **Valkyrie + Axle + Seer nerfs**
- **Switch support ends today** —
- the last season on original
- Switch
- No new Legend, no new weapon, no
- new map. Respawn is intentionally
- making Marked a systems-focused
- season.
- The map has shifted to an
- "old-god aesthetics" theme. The
- aurora borealis glows in the night
- sky and three new POIs replace
- familiar areas.
- **Climatizer + East Village** —
- Bloodhound's tribe lays claim.
- East Village has unique
- architecture and a massive
- Longhouse
- vertical movement gameplay,
- the most-traversible POI on
- the new map
- **Countdown** — replaces
- Fragment East. New combat
- flow with high-ground chokepoints
- and an open central arena
- **August 4 (Tuesday)**:
- Ranked + Pubs = World’s Edge
- for 24 hours
- **August 8-9 (Sat-Sun)**:
- Ranked = World’s Edge for 48
- hours
- **Normal rotation resumes
- August 5** (Pubs) and **August
- 8** (Ranked) at standard 4.5h
- / 90m intervals
- The full rework. Bloodhound's
- abilities do the tracking so
- you can do the hunting.
- Enemies leave a **glowing red
- trail** as they move. The trail
- is visible for 4 seconds and
- intensifies at lower health.
- White Ravens (the environmental
- markers) have improved range and
- can now be activated by a quick
- glance (no more focus required).
- Initial scan + **two additional
- "snapshot" scans** for 3 seconds
- each. The snapshots fire at
- +1.5s and +3s after the first
- scan, catching enemies who moved
- during the gap.
- Deploys a device that **cloaks
- all Legends who enter**. While
- not fully invisible, cloaked
- Legends remain hidden for **12
- seconds after leaving the
- device's area**, or until they
- take damage or fire weapons.
- This is the most-aggressive
- Bloodhound rework since launch.
- The cloaking is a first for
- Apex Legends — no other Legend
- has a team-wide invisibility
- ultimate.
- A new attachment tier. **Powerful
- buffs, real drawbacks.**
- Examples (full list at launch):
- **Corrupted Extended Energy
- Mag** — +50% magazine size,
- 15% reload speed
- **Corrupted Shotgun Bolt** —
- +25% fire rate, +20% recoil
- per shot
- **Corrupted Stabilizer** —
- +30% accuracy, -20% damage
- per bullet
- **Corrupted Sniper Stock** —
- +40% ADS speed, -25% bullet
- velocity
- The trade-offs are designed to
- make each Corrupted Attachment
- **build-defining**. A fully
- Corrupted weapon is a high-skill
- weapon — powerful in the right
- hands, punishing in the wrong.
- **Energy ammo is removed from
- the loot pool.** Energy weapons
- now **regenerate their ammo**
- automatically, similar to a
- cooldown.
- The change is a major
- playstyle shift. Energy weapons
- (Volt, Triple Take, L-STAR,
- Charge Rifle, Havoc) are no
- longer backpack-management
- weapons. They're "free" weapons
- with no ammo cost.
- Impact:
- **L-STAR** is now a top-tier
- weapon (no ammo management
- means continuous fire)
- **Volt** is more accessible to
- new players (no need to find
- energy ammo)
- **Triple Take** becomes a
- mid-range powerhouse
- best sniper for solo players
- (no ammo scarcity)
- The new loot pool removes
- several bin and loot types:
- **Support Bins** removed
- **Assault Bins** removed
- **Explosive Holds** removed
- **Loot bin resets** removed
- **Wildlife loot** removed
- All other loot sources
- rebalanced
- The intent: less time perfecting
- your loadout, more time using
- it. The average match now has
- fewer "dead" loot bins and more
- meaningful weapon choice.
- above)
- **Black Market cooldown** —
- reduced from 30s to 22s
- **Tactical (Burglar's Best
- Friend)** — movement speed
- increased 25%, range increased
- 30%
- The Loba buff makes her the
- strongest "supply" legend in
- the game. Expect a +30% pick
- rate in Diamond+ ranked.
- **Sheila** — movement speed
- while firing increased 40%
- **Amped Cover** — builds 25%
- faster, takes 30% more damage
- before breaking
- Rampart becomes a viable
- aggressive pick for the first
- time since her release.
- **VTOL Jets** — fuel
- consumption rate increased
- 30% (less air time)
- **Skyward Dive** — cast time
- increased 0.5s
- Valkyrie was the most-picked
- legend in Season 29 (38% pick
- rate in Diamond+). The nerf
- brings her in line with the new
- Bloodhound.
- **Tempest passive** — damage
- resistance reduced 25%
- **Whirlwind ultimate** —
- duration reduced 3s, damage

- ultimate, which was the
- strongest team-wipe ability
- in the game.
- **Heart Seeker** — heartbeat
- detection range reduced 33%
- **Exhibit ultimate** — silence
- duration reduced 1.5s

- 2026. The community expects

- new Mythic weapon, available
- via Mythic Track progression.
- Unique volatile ammo that
- deals splash damage on kill
- **Ranked updates in S31** —
- the "season reset" frequency
- is being reworked. Details
- in S31 designer's notes
- **Map voting in Ranked** —
- pre-game vote between

- beefed-up servers in S30,
- reduced slo-mo server rate
- **The last season for original
- Nintendo Switch.** Switch support

Bloodhound rework
The full rework. Bloodhound's abilities do the tracking so you can do the hunting.
New Passive: Tracker

New Tactical: Snapshot
Initial scan + two additional "snapshot" scans for 3 seconds each. The snapshots fire at +1.5s and +3s after the first scan, catching enemies who moved during the gap.
New Ultimate: Allfather's Cloak
Deploys a device that cloaks all Legends who enter. While not fully invisible, cloaked Legends remain hidden for 12 seconds after leaving the device's area, or until they take damage or fire weapons.
This is the most-aggressive Bloodhound rework since launch. The cloaking is a first for Apex Legends — no other Legend has a team-wide invisibility ultimate.
Corrupted Attachments

Energy weapon overhaul
Energy ammo is removed from the loot pool. Energy weapons now regenerate their ammo automatically, similar to a cooldown.
The change is a major playstyle shift. Energy weapons (Volt, Triple Take, L-STAR, Charge Rifle, Havoc) are no longer backpack-management weapons. They're "free" weapons with no ammo cost.

new players (no need to find energy ammo)

best sniper for solo players (no ammo scarcity)
Loot pool streamline
